Fun Things to do this Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Enjoy the holiday with several fun events happening in Downtown Huntsville.

Jamorial Day
Get ready for fun this Memorial Day at the Jamorial Day Jam Band Backyard Party. Enjoy live music, sizzling hot dogs, tie- dye fun, cold beverages, and a laid back atmosphere. This event will transport you to the heart of a Grateful Dead concert featuring Alabama's best Jam Bands, Milltowne, and T.U.B. Jamorial Day is May 27 at the Electric Belle from 2 PM to 7 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 or under. 

Betsy and Peter Lowe Community FREE Day 
The Huntsville Museum of Art is offering their guests and their families a free entry day this Memorial Day Weekend! There will be free admission to the Huntsville Museum of Art on May 28, from 12 PM to 5 PM. Beginning at 2 PM, the Prevailing Winds Flute Ensemble will perform for the guests. 

Memorial Day Program at the Veterans Memorial
This event will provide family and friends the opportunity to honor Veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The ceremony will take place at Huntsville Veterans Park in Downtown Huntsville on May 29 at 10:15 AM. The service is free to attend and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for their comfort. The Huntsville Concert Band will be performing prior to the Memorial Day Ceremony.

Cotton Row Run 
The Cotton Row Run is coming back into town! For 44 years the Cotton Row Run has been the premiere Memorial Day running event in the South. This event honors fallen military members that sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Runs being offered include a 1 mile run, a 5k, a 10k run, or both the 5k and the 10k. Come to Downtown Huntsville on May 27 to show your support on Memorial Day! Register now.

Southern Soul R&B Music Festival
Make your way to John Hunt Park on May 25 at 10 AM to enjoy the first Southern Soul and R&B Music Festival! Enjoy performances from Stephanie Mills, The Manhattans, Silk, Con Funk Shun, and many more. Enjoy arts and culture, food trucks, and live music with friends and family at this event. This event is suitable for all ages and supports local charities, bringing revenue to the Tennessee Valley. Buy your tickets today!

Post Memorial Day Ceremony
This Memorial Day, visit the Maple Hill Cemetery to partake in a wreath laying ceremony to honor and remember comrades who died in the defense of our country. Any organization that wants to participate in laying a wreath is welcome to do so. This ceremony will take place on May 27 at 9 AM at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville. 

Pik’nik & Friends
Come out to Big Spring Park on May 26 at 6 PM to dance to the rhythm of House and Bass. Find yourself immersed in the sounds of talented DJ’s and producers within Huntsville’s electronic music scene. Anyone is welcome to this event and it is free to all, so come out and bring the heat!
